I'm trying to get my 3" BL installed before CC, so I can finally run my 34's. I have two free weekends to schedule getting it done. If folks can make it out, I figure the more the merrier.

I'll supply all the beer, and a 1" thick ribeye steak dinner with the works for everyone that makes it. If anyone can make it from out of town (ahem, Ryan?), I have a guest bedroom with private bath. If more want to stay the night, I also have a futon bed in my basement family room, as well as queen size air mattresses and a sleeper sofa. Everyone is more than welcome to stay, especially if we knock down quite few afterwards and you don't want to drive.

The weekends are the first two weekends in June - the 2nd and 3rd, and the 9th and 10th. Whichever weekend the most can make it, that's probably when it'll be. My preference is the first weekend, as that will give me time to work out any bugs before CC, but I'm more than flexible.

I have a fair amount of tools, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own, if you think it will help. If anyone has a welder, it would be great if you could bring that so we can modify the ARB. Let me know ahead of time if you can bring it and I'll rent a generator - I don't think the wiring in my garage is up to the task.

Also, if anyone wants to list some tips and some do's/don't's, feel free to put them in this thread.

I'll bring my experience and tools...

Just email me directions on how to get to your place.

Okay, so I've been spraying the bolts that hold the body to the frame with some PB Blaster, as well as spraying the splined area of the steering shaft. I've wrenched on some of the body bolts, and they look in pretty good condition. I don't think they'll be a huge problem.

I've also removed the step bars, which were welded on by the previous owner. I had to remove them so we will be able get to the second bolt from the front.

Tonight, I plan on removing the plastic cover that covers the gas lines in the upper rear wheel well corner of the passenger side.

Are there some other things I can do/move ahead of time to help this go smoothly? Will I probably need to remove the flares and mud flaps, since I'll be putting on 34's? (I already have the 3" AC suspension lift)

Ryan, I've got a compressor, but it's a pretty small one, 4 gallons I think. Not that great of a pump on it. My impact wrench is good for about a 4 second blast before the tank has to refill.

Remove the front mud flaps for sure.

Also remove the stupid plastic caps under the rear seats that are covering those 2 body bolts.

You could also take off the bottom strip of your fan shroud.

that's all I can think of at the moment....

Unless you bought the radiator drop kit, in that case the whole radiator is getting yanked.

Keep spraying all the bolts especially the rear ones (you gotta get to the top nut, not easy). Also spray the parking brake brackets' bolts, the power steering resivoir braket bolts, fuel filter bracket bolts, the safety loop bolts, and bumper bolts.

This is looking kickass. We're all done except reinstalling the ARB. Pics soon.

Ryan and Rob have been a HUGE help. There's no possible way I could have done this in a weekend by myself, not even counting modifying the ARB (pics of that coming soon, too). We've been extremely thorough, and there's no way a shop or someone could have done a better job if I paid them.

Hey guys, got home at 8:30.

Jay, I wanna thank you and your family for your hospitality. Glad we could get your lift and bumper done for ya. Sorry I had to cut out, but at least we got your bumper up in place first.

Stopped once for gas and a burger, 75mph the rest of the time Wink .

Did have a good laugh on the way:

Just south of the speedway I was in the left lane passing some semis when this white Impala with Ohio plates goes flying around me in the right lane barely missing a semi's rear end and cutting me off. About 2 miles later I see a KY tooper fly out of some bushes in the median. Come over the next rise and he had the Impala pulled over. Heh, serves him right for cutting me off like that....but, that is not the end of this tale.

About 10 miles past the river, back in Ohio, I'm in the center lane (it's 55 there, so I'm going 65). I look in my rear view and there is a white Impala...hmmm. As he passes I notice it is the same guy Shocked . He goes flying past and is about 1000ft ahead of me when I glance to the slow lane and see a local Police car.... It speeds up, whips into the fast lane and hits his lights. I almost cried I laughed so hard.

Not only did he get pulled over for speeding, but he kept on speeding afterward, so much so that he caught back up to me 60 miles later and got caught again. It's expensive enough to pay for gas for a long trip, let alone a stack of tickets also Rolling Eyes .

Thanks again, guys. Glad you made it home ok, Ryan.

I'm so drag-assed tired right now, it'll probably be tomorrow when I post the pics (cause there's a lot of them). Sorry about the delay on that, everyone.

I'm sure the neighbors were scratching their heads about three fairly identical Pathfinders in the driveway today. Looked pretty cool, if you ask me.

I took it for a longer test drive after everything got tightened down, and everything seemed fine. I feel like I'm sitting in a tower.

Time for some more ibuprofen and another beer!

The "before" pic, with the ARB already off:

Rain delay on Saturday:

"After" shot, with one of the tires that will be going on before CC:

More pics soon; I'm having trouble getting them uploaded to photobucket.
